A treatment that uses needles that are inserted into a muscle to decrease pain. The brain uses chemical, electrical and mechanical factors to translate pain when a muscle is not functioning properly. Dry needling helps “reset” those factors and decrease muscle pain. This treatment can be used for assisting in decreasing muscle inflammation, aiding in muscle recovery, and helps non-firing muscles contract. Dry needling can be used for diagnoses such as TMJ, muscle strains, chronic pain and many others.
