Bays Gibson

PT, DPT, Clinical Director

Bays received his Bachelor of Science degree in Sports Medicine from Emory and Henry College and both his Masters and Doctor of Physical Therapy degrees from Shenandoah University. After graduating from PT school Dr. Gibson completed the University of Cincinnati Sports Physical Therapy Residency Program. There he participated in research and received advanced training in orthopedic physical therapy while working with all athletic populations including high school athletes, Division 1 athletes, and with several professional teams and their athletes. He was born and raised in Franklin County, Virginia and returned to the area joining Lucas Therapies in 2005 where he continues to work with all orthopedic patient populations and conditions.

Bays has extensive advanced training in the evaluation and treatment work related injuries and industrial services. He performs Functional Capacity Evaluations (FCE) and Impairment Ratings. He works with employers, case managers, physicians and insurance carriers in a variety of ways including job demand analysis for development of job descriptions, work hardening/conditioning programs, and transitional and return to work programs. He has done extensive work with Pre-Employment testing and development and treats injured workers on-site at their place of employment. He also performs Disability FCE’s and functional assessments.
